PyData Maps
Based on data scraped from www.meetup.com/pro/pydata and additional groups not in the Pro network, last updated...
Classic map
Plain markers for each PyData and PyData affiliated group. Location of groups plotted as the geocoded city name taken from group name (using geopy).
Activity group map
This map is designed to make it easy at a glance to spot active groups to speak at / attend and to identify dormant or inactive groups that may require support.
Key
- Marker size = group members
- Opacity = time since last event scheduled
- Blue groups have no events scheduled
- Green groups have an event scheduled
Groups that might benefit from your support
This map is intended to draw attention to groups that haven't hosted an event in a while. You should consider volunteering for, speaking at, or sponsoring these groups to help them out. Groups which have not hosted an event in 100 days are shown in red, all other groups in a faint blue.
Groups from outside of the pro network
It was brought to my attention, in this GitHub issue from Stelios Christodoulou, that there are PyData groups that aren't included in the official PyData Pro network. I've taken some steps to search these out, and to collect them in the form of community contributions. These groups are included in the maps above, and the map below shows only these (independent?) groups.
